About Chabad AU

Since the early 2010s, Chabad AU has brought vibrant Jewish activities to The American University and surrounding communities, serving one of the largest Jewish student populations with over 1,500 undergraduates and 1,000+ graduate students.

We are AU's official Chabad affiliate and a project of American Friends of Lubavitch, representing the global Chabad-Lubavitch movement, the largest Jewish educational and social service network worldwide.

Our Philosophy

Chabad AU embraces the Chabad-Lubavitch ethos: the mitzvah "to love every Jew as oneself," coupled with meaningful acts of kindness. Every Jew has a unique contribution to make to the Jewish people.

We engage Jews at their own pace, through educational programs and activities, regardless of prior affiliation.
